SEPTA's Art-in-Transit program uses art as a focal point to establish a partnership with riders, strengthen SEPTA's identity as a provider of public transit service, and foster a greater sense of community pride and ownership of each local station. The Program incorporates art elements into renovation and construction projects for selected stations and public transportation facilities.  The program allocates up to one percent of the construction budget of capitally funded projects for the design, fabrication, and installation of permanent public art.
