Pulitzer Prize Entries
Joseph Pulitzer, a successful newspaper publisher and advocate for advanced training in journalism, established the Pulitzer Prizes in his will of 1904 as an incentive to excellence in journalism, letters and drama. The Prize categories have since expanded to 21 categories including journalism, poetry, fiction and nonfiction writing, drama, and musical composition. A Prize winner may be an individual, a group of individuals, or a newspaper's staff. Each winner receives $10,000.
