The George Sugarman Foundation awards grants of up to $10,000 to visual artists who are engaged in creating new works of fine art, whose work shows promise, and who are in need of financial assistance. Photographers, performance artists, dancers, musicians, and students currently enrolled in degree programs are not eligible. Grants are not awarded to pay past debts, medical bills and, generally speaking, travel expenses, although exceptions, when appropriate, have been made in the latter category. Please see the website for application guidelines. A $35 application fee is required.
