Fromm Music Foundation, The

The Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard University has commissioned over 300 new compositions and their performances. The Foundation commissions young and less known composers as well as established composers annually through The Fromm Foundation Commission. Commission amounts are $10,000. The Fromm/Walton Residency offers to winners of Fromm commissions several four­week residencies on the grounds of La Mortella, the home of the late Sir William Walton on the Italian island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples. In 1992, the Paul Fromm Composer-­in-­Residence program at the American Academy in Rome was founded, and the annual Fromm concert and Paul Fromm Award for Composition at Tanglewood were established.
