The Fairmount Park Art Association is the nation's first private, nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating public art and urban planning. The Association commissions, interprets, and preserves public art in Philadelphia. We also work to promote the appreciation of public art through programs and advocacy efforts. The Association puts out calls to artists for commissions and projects such as New•Land•Marks: public art, community, and the meaning of place, a program that brings together artists and community organizations to plan and create new works throughout Philadelphia.
