The Dramatists Guild of America is a professional membership association for playwrights, composers, and lyricists. The Guild offers its members a wide range of bene?ts, including access to the organization’s business affairs department, which provides model contracts and agreements as well as advice in negotiating contracts with theatres, collaborators, and publishers. Members also receive several publications with their membership including, The Dramatists Guild Resource Directory, an annual publication of resources and opportunities for dramatic writers that lists conferences, festivals, fellowships, and grants. Membership is open to all dramatic writers, regardless of their production history.

The Dramatist Guild Fund assists fellow dramatists in time of personal hardship such as a health-related problems or loss of income. The Fund can also assist older dramatic writers who are ill, uninsured, or whose royalties have dried up. The Fund cannot subsidize the writing or production of plays and does not provide grants-in-aid or other long-range career assistance.

The Dramatists Guild of America offers members the ability to create and maintain personal web pages hosted on the Dramatists Guild’s website. Members can easily add text, links, and graphics to a variety of templates or can start from a blank page and build their own web pages. The Guild’s system requires no knowledge of HTML.
