Dance/USA
Dance/USA, a national service organization for professional dance, seeks to advance the art form of dance by addressing the needs, concerns, and interests of professional dance. Dance/USA’s members include professional dance companies, artists, presenters, service organizations, individuals, and other organizations.
Programs in service to its membership and the dance ?eld include a Public Communications program, which provides a central source of timely and accurate information. This communication program produces a semiannual Dance/USA Journal and a Member Bulletin, published eleven times a year, listing funding opportunities, job positions, and other resources. There is also a Government Affairs program—an advocacy service. Dance/USA’s Information Services program provides statistical information on professional dance and many of these surveys and facts are available on their website. Additionally, Dance/USA provides many professional development and networking opportunities through seminars and workshops at their semiannual Council Meetings, biennial national Roundtables, and regional forums.
The organization also acts as the recognized peer organization for dancers who seek to obtain visas from the INS.
