COSACOSA art at large, Inc. builds civic engagement in Philadelphia communities through active engagement in the creative process. Through collaborative art workshops, neighborhood-based residencies and media projects, COSACOSA works to regain art's original role as a gathering force for community healing, participation and collaboration.  COSACOSA's programs include the Healing Art Project, which brings together individuals from hospitals with members of the community and Community Collections, which explores Philadelphia's cultural history and changing urban landscape through artist-in-residency programs. Resident artists typically work with one or more of the constituent communities for 3 months to 1 year at a time, and are paid accordingly.
