Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation, Inc.
Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation, Inc. offers Individual Support Grants to painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have been creating mature art for at least 20 years and who are in current financial need. Maturity is based on the level of intellectual, technical, and creative development maintained over this time period. Artists must show that their primary involvement has been with their artistic goals, regardless of other personal or financial responsibilities. Twelve grants are awarded each year with an annual deadline of December 15th. Only written requests for application forms will be honored.
The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation operates the Emergency Assistance Program to provide interim financial assistance to qualified artists whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Each grant is given as one¬time assistance for a specific emergency, such as fire, flood, or emergency medical needs. The program does not consider requests for dental work, chronic situ¬ations, capital improvements, or projects of any kind. The maximum amount of this grant is $10,000 however an award of $4,000 is typical. Process time is four¬six weeks, faster if situation is critical. To be eligible, an artist must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of his or her work and must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, or printmaking.
